|============================================================================== | IBIS Accuracy Specification README.TXT |============================================================================== Hello. The IBIS Accuracy Subcommittee thanks you for your interest in the IBIS Accuracy Specification. We hope that the material here will be useful for engineers who are interested in producing and using IBIS datasheets whose accuracy is appropriate for the design application at hand. It is our intention to create a spec that might be a suitable reference document for component purchase orders. What is accuracy? As we define it, accuracy is close agreement between simulation results and lab data. As system designers and semiconductor vendors, we are interested in modeling data that represents the real hardware. In the IBIS Accuracy Specification, we attempt to define metrics that allow an engineer to quantify simulation vs. lab correlation. This is what you will find in this directory: accspec.pdf - The IBIS Accuracy Specification 1.1 in PDF format. acctrail.pdf - An ASCII text file containing a template for the IBIS Accuracy Trailer, an IBIS comment section that serves to document simulation vs. lab correlation results for a given IBIS datasheet. testbrd.tar.Z - A compressed unix tar file that contains the Cadence design files and Gerbers for the IBIS Accuracy Test Board. This board demonstrates how to make the measurements outlined in the Accuracy Spec. Make sure you read the errata file in the doc directory if you plan to fab your own copy of this board. We welcome your comments and insights about this material.
