The minutes from Aug. 17 were approved with a single change, the correction of the date from Aug. 17 to Aug. 10. Walter Katz asked about the status of the rewrite of Section 10. Michael Mirmak suggested that the section would not be rewritten or re-partitioned until the new format was agreed upon. Walter noted that Section 10's first two sections are the Modeling Interface and Programming Guide, which Walter has reformatted in a document distributed on the reflector. The AMI Language Guide (the "second area") shows the structure of the .ami file. The third area, covering Reserved Parameters, is shown in a document with reformatting by Bob Ross; while he did not intend these to be separate documents, he suggested the idea has merit. Bob suggested that Lou Church cannot yet be given instructions as the team has not developed a document for him. Arpad Muranyi replied that he liked Bob's new format, but would prefer to see the "Usage Rules", "Other Notes" and "Required" somehow distinguished from "Usage", "Type", "Format" and "Default". Arpad suggested indenting these, while Michael suggested either Putting these in a table, or otherwise in-line. Arpad Muranyi suggested that "default" and "value" are mutually exclusive. Discussion ensued on interpretation of the terms. Michael Mirmak noted that the specification does not clearly distinguish between string literals and the six elements or parameters. Walter Katz noted that the < > characters already do this. At the next meeting, Bob Ross will review his reformatting of Section 6c. Arpad Muranyi will show his own example of the second area.
