No patents were declared. Review of minutes from the August 24 meeting: Walter Katz moved to approve. Arpad Muranyi seconded. Minutes were approved without objection. Review of ARs: - Michael Mirmak to edit the latest IBIS 7.0 draft and send to group. - Michael reported that this was done. Editorial review of ver7_0_180829.docx and the task checklist: Arpad asked if we finished all the wordsmithing in the known issue lists. Michael reported we still need to go through and renumber all the sections. There are two new items on the checklist as well. Arpad asked if we should finish these new known issues before we get into the BIRDs. Michael stated that the BIRDs are in the Version 7.0 draft, and he has updated the page numbers to match. Michael showed at an example issue from Randy in BIRD189. He stated a lot of the known issues for BIRDs in Version 7.0 are BIRD189 related, while some are global issues. Michael noted for checklist item 24, BIRD147.6, which is the Back-channel Support section, has been added on page 267. He asked if there were any other BIRDs that would have changed the text in the Back-channel Support section. He noted we have a note regarding creating separate sections for Back-channel and Interconnect. Mike suggested the clarification BIRDs should be implemented first. Michael noted that all the BIRDs are already in the IBIS Version 7.0 draft. Bob Ross suggested to rename the section to simply Back-Channel. Walter suggested Link Training is a more industry wide term. Michael asked which terms we used more in Version 7.0 draft. Bob commented that many of the parameters are named with BCI. Michael noted Link Training is used a few times in the section. Arpad suggested to be consistent with the capitalization of these terms. Bob withdrew his renaming comment. Michael noted we need to be consistent with the spelling of "back channel" vs. "back-channel" and with their capitalization. The phrase "Back-channel Protocol" is capitalized. Mike suggested to call it "Back-channel Interface Protocol". Arpad suggested to change "Back channel" to "Back-channel" and agreed with Mike to change "Back-channel Protocol" to "Back-channel Interface Protocol". Mike suggested to capitalize the Channel as we have the BCI acronym. Michael did a search and replace to fix these issues. Michael noted we also have some changes in the AMI section from BIRD147.6. Mike suggested to add the word "Link" to training in this section. Michael noted that these page numbers are not listed in the checklist and added the appropriate pages. We marked checklist item 24 for BIRD147.6 as verified. Michael asked if we can mark BIRD158.7 as verified, since it was superseded by BIRD194. Arpad and Mike agreed. Michael marked checklist item 25 as verified. Michael asked Arpad about BIRD165.1, regarding parameter passing. Arpad replied that this was a parameter passing issue for [Circuit Call] to be independent. Michael asked if the [Circuit Call] subparameters Parameters and Converter_parameters appear in the hierarchy diagram. Bob replied that both Parameters and Converter_parameters appear under [Circuit Call] in the updated hierarchy diagram he is working on. Bob asked about [External Circuit]. Arpad stated this was done in BIRD160. Michael noted pages 107, 144 and 145 were all effected. He asked about the example on page 139. Arpad thought this was changed by another BIRD. Bob thought it was affected by the Figure 29 BIRD. Michael noted page 150 was also changed by BIRD165.1. He marked checklist item 26 item as verified. Michael noted BIRD193 made changes to this same area, and it made a several small changes in other locations. Michael noted the change to the die pads were done. On page 145, the term "die_pad" was deleted. There were significant text changes made to page 146. Michael noted that the figure is now fixed on what is now page 147, and it is now Figure 30. Starting on page 149 there are example changes. Michael commented that the BIRD states pad 2 is an explicit pad connection and asked if we want this changed to implicit. Arpad replied that we want it to say implicit. Michael corrected the same issue for pad 11 and pad 4. On page 150, there are additional changes and ports should change from explicit to implicit. He noted there were additional typographical changes to the [Merged Pins] keyword section to remove the word "new". We marked the checklist item 39 as verified. Michael stated he will double check the page numbers and send out the latest draft [AR]. Mike moved to adjourn. Arpad seconded. The meeting adjourned without objection. The next meeting will take place Wednesday, September 5.
