Michael Mirmak* Keysight Technologies Radek Biernacki* Mentor Graphics Arpad Muranyi* Micron Technology Justin Butterfield, Randy Wolff Signal Integrity Software Mike LaBonte*, Walter Katz* Teraspeed Labs Bob Ross* No patents were declared. Arpad Muranyi reported on the IBIS Advanced Technology Modeling Task Group’s recommendation for C_comp treatment for 6.1, as follows – change the sentence: • “If [C Comp Corner] is present, its value or values override any other C_comp* representations.” to • “If [C Comp Corner] is present, its value or values override all [Model] C_comp, C_comp_* representations, regardless of whether the sub-parameter sets are the same or not.” Several attendees expressed concerns about second half of new sentence being too complex for a vote. Mike LaBonte stated that the intent was to show that nothing C_comp-related from [Model] should be used if [C_comp Corner] is present. Values are overriding, where overrides are usually selective. Here, mere presence is enough. Radek Biernacki suggested a completely different sentence be used: “If [C Comp Corner] is present, its subparameters should be used, and the C_comp, C_comp_* subparameters of [Model] shall be ignored.” Mike expressed concerns about corner data requirements. Radek added that If you have C_comp_corner, you should have at least one corner included. With discussion, the final phrase became: "If [C Comp Corner] is present, its subparameters take precedence over any and all C_comp, C_comp_* subparameters of [Model]." Arpad moved that this phrase be recommended by the Editorial Task Group to the IBIS Open Forum for inclusion in IBIS 6.1. Radek seconded the motion. The motion carried without objection. Arpad moved that the Editorial Task Group recommend that IBIS 6.1 approval be made conditional on the inclusion; Bob Ross seconded the motion. Radek objected. Walter suggested that someone from the Editorial Task Group make the approval motion for 6.1 at the meeting, with the change. After discussion, Arpad withdrew the motion in favor of Walter’s suggestion.
