================================================================================ IBIS EDITORIAL TASK GROUP http://www.ibis.org/editorial_wip/ Mailing list: ibis-editorial@freelists.org Archives at http://www.freelists.org/archive/ibis-editorial/ ================================================================================ Attendees from November 14, 2018 Meeting (* means attended at least using audio) ANSYS Curtis Clark Cadence Design Systems Bradley Brim Intel Corp. Michael Mirmak* Keysight Technologies Radek Biernacki Mentor, A Siemens Business Arpad Muranyi* Micron Technology Justin Butterfield*, Randy Wolff SiSoft Walter Katz, Mike LaBonte Teraspeed Labs Bob Ross* Michael Mirmak convened the meeting. No patents were declared. Justin Butterfield took minutes. Review of minutes from the November 9 meeting: Arpad Muranyi moved to approve. Bob Ross seconded. Minutes were approved without objection. Review of ARs: - Bob to send new tree hierarchy text to Michael. - Michael reported he did receive this. - Michael to send out the latest draft and checklist. - Michael reported this was done and thanked Mike LaBonte for posting. Opens: - Michael stated Mike has found a few minor issues, but we will wait for him to send a list. Michael thought these should be quick to resolve. Editorial review of ver7_0_181114.docx and the task checklist: Michael noted he had sent out a corrupted document previously, but this is now corrected. Michael stated we can review the hierarchy diagram from Bob. Bob confirmed, in the current version of the document, the hierarchy diagram does now match the one he sent. The new diagram should include all the new keywords for IBIS 7.0. Michael marked checklist item 69 for the tree diagram as verified. Bob was concerned that we should be consistent with section names and subsection names starting on a new page. He thought we should review this for each subsection. Michael added a checklist item to review this. He commented this also relates to the vertical spacing which has a checklist item. Michael stated checklist item 68 is regarding the table and figure captions. Michael noted we only have a Table of Contents, but we do not have a Table of Tables nor a Table of Figures. In the corrupted document, he had these for his purposes of reviewing the table and figure names for consistency. He asked if we should add these as a new feature. Arpad agreed with this. Bob commented this could be useful to locate tables and figures. Michael added a checklist item to add a Table of Tables and a Table of Figures. Arpad asked about the indentation in the Table of Contents. Michael replied only the numbers are indented and MS-Word has some requirement to maintain a minimum spacing between the number and text. Arpad thought the text should follow the number spacing and have the same space between each number and the text. Bob thought this could be an issue between numbers 9 and 10 where an extra space is required. Arpad stated he prefers the way the Navigation pane in MS-Word looks. Michael modified checklist item 74 to include looking into this. Michael added a Table of Figures. Arpad asked about the figure title which includes the terms Isso_pu and Isso_pd if these should be upper case. Michael noted the Isso_pu and Isso_pd are used as lower case, but the keywords are upper case. The equations in the text use the lower case versions. Arpad commented it appears that the Isso_pu and Isso_pd are referring to the current direction in the figures. Bob thought it is correct to use Isso_pu and Isso_pd for the figure captions. Michael also added a Table of Tables. He asked if the title of Table 3, which uses Isso_pd and Isso_pu, is correct. Bob responded this is correct. Arpad noted the Table 3 column headings should be capitalized. Arpad asked about the line wrap in the Table of Tables. He would like to indent the line wrap cases. Michael added a checklist item for this. He will need to ask some internal experts if fixing this is possible. Michael noted the "Figure XXX" and "Table XXX" labels have been fixed. He also found and fixed a broken cross reference to the Interconnect Modeling section. Arpad asked if we have any "Figure XX" and "Table XX" labels. Michael found a few broken figure references as "Figure XX". Arpad asked if the cross reference links should be only the figure number. Michael thought this is a limitation with MS-Word that the link must the word "Figure" plus the number. We marked checklist item 68. Michael noted that checklist item 75 is on the Syntax Rules section references. He checked these are consistent and found instances of "General Syntax Rules and Guidelines" that should be Setion 3.2 "Syntax Rules". Michael stated that Mike had pointed out that there are some items in the Syntax Rules section which are not syntax rules, and this is something we need to discuss. Arpad suggest to change "rule #" to "item" to be consistent. We marked checklist item 75 as verified. Michael noted checklist item 76 is on using "Section" rather than "Chapter". We marked this as verified. Michael noted checklist item 80 is now done. Bob asked if we have unique table and figure captions. Michael asked Bob to take a look at the Table of Tables and Table of Figures to check this. Michael marked checklist item 86 as verified, since the Table of Tables and Table of Figures were added live. We agreed to meet on Friday. Michael will send out the latest draft and checklist [AR]. Arpad moved to adjourn. Justin seconded. The meeting adjourned without objection. The next meeting will take place Friday, November 16, at 8 AM Pacific. Open Technical Questions: 1. BIRD182: POWER and GND [Pin] signal_name as [Pin Mapping] bus_label a. Is a bus_label created even if we don't have [Pin Mapping], [Bus Label], or [Die Supply Pads] through the [Pin]? b. Is a bus_label short created for legacy package models based on the second column of [Pin] when we do not have a [Pin Mapping] entry?
