================================================================================ IBIS EDITORIAL TASK GROUP http://www.ibis.org/editorial_wip/ Mailing list: ibis-editorial@freelists.org Archives at http://www.freelists.org/archive/ibis-editorial/ ================================================================================ Attendees from December 5, 2018 Meeting (* means attended at least using audio) ANSYS Curtis Clark Cadence Design Systems Bradley Brim Intel Corp. Michael Mirmak Keysight Technologies Radek Biernacki Mentor, A Siemens Business Arpad Muranyi* Micron Technology Justin Butterfield*, Randy Wolff SiSoft Walter Katz, Mike LaBonte* Teraspeed Labs Bob Ross* Mike LaBonte convened the meeting. No patents were declared. Justin Butterfield took minutes. Review of minutes from the November 28 meeting: Justin noted the date of the next meeting was listed as Tuesday, December 4, but this was later changed. Bob Ross noted Michael's name was misspelled. Arpad Muranyi moved to approve the minutes with these changes. Bob seconded. Minutes were approved without objection. Review of ARs: - Mike to fix the cases of incorrect backwards quotation marks. - Mike reported this was done. - Mike to create a list of the technical issues he has found [AR]. - Mike reported this was done and Michael had started a document with this list. - Mike to send his copy of the document to Michael to double check. - Mike reported this document been posted and sent out. Opens: - None. Review of ver7_0_181205.docx: Mike noted the incorrect "Fig. 2" reference is now changed to Figure 41 on page 356 (All Markup). Bob noted he has another figure reference correction. Mike showed the fixed backwards quotes on page 362. He also showed that the issues with m-dash have been changed to double dash. Arpad asked if there is a space before this. Mike removed the space. Mike noted the issues with the Figure 46 reference have been fixed. Bob noted that Figure 45 has the same issue and is referred to as Figure 48 in the text. Mike corrected this by making it a figure cross reference. Mike noted an issue in MS-Word with the figure numbers having repeat numbers. Arpad asked if Mike is using the same MS-Word Version as Michael. Mike replied he is using Office 365. Bob stated we have a reference to "figure above", and he thought this should reference the figure number. Mike agreed and changed this to Figure 42. He noted Figure 43 has the same issue and fixed this as well. Justin asked if the issue with the repeated Figure numbers only shows up in Markup mode. Mike tested this and noted that it is not an issue in No Markup mode. Bob commented we also need to check the line spacing issues in No Markup mode. Mike noted we have 7 checklist items remaining. Checklist item 71 indicates it should be the last step to change the dates. Mike suggested checklist item 85 regarding the page breaks should be last. Bob stated that the date does not span multiple lines. Mike agreed this would be unlikely to change the line spacing. Bob stated we do not know the exact day until the document is approved, but he would like to see the correct spacing before we approve it. Mike asked about checklist item 72 regarding new BIRDs for changes we have made. He asked if this is something we should bring up in the Open Forum and how to determine which changes warrant a BIRD. Bob commented that we often find issues that require BIRDs, but we have already made some changes that could be BIRDs. If a change comes up during review as not a simple editorial change, this could require a BIRD. Then, we would have to deal with these issues. This checklist item is a place holder that this could happen, but there are currently no known cases. Arpad asked about checklist item 79 regarding the table alignment. Mike suggested to go through the tables to check. Bob suggested to check these in No Markup view. Bob asked if the tables are center aligned. Mike responded Table 1 is centered, but Table 2 is left edge aligned and spans both margins. Bob suggested to left align the tables. Arpad stated most are center aligned. Mike noted Table 11 encroaches the right margin. Mike changed the Table 11 width using the Autofit feature. Bob asked if the X's in Table 13 should be vertically centered. Mike fixed this. Mike noted the headings in Table 14 are not centered and corrected this. Arpad stated the notes are in the tables in some cases (e.g. Table 15) and not in others. Mike added a checklist item asking about this. Arpad suggested to center Table 19. Arpad commented Table 20 is too wide, and he proposed to make some of the columns smaller. Mike noted that there this is a table within a table and there is some padding the cell text. Bob commented we might make an exception for this table. Mike stated we will need some expert help on Table 20 and added an item to the checklist for this. Arpad commented we need to center Table 22. Mike commented Table 23 has the same issue as Table 20. Bob noted there are several tables like this. Mike noted Table 24 also encroaches the margin, but it could possibly be fixed. He will need some expert help to fix the tables that encroach the margins. Mike will send out the latest draft and checklist [AR]. Mike will ask Michael about the Table encroachment issue [AR}. Bob moved to adjourn. Arpad seconded. The meeting adjourned without objection. The next meeting will take place Friday, December 7, at 8 AM Pacific. Open Technical Questions: 1. BIRD182: POWER and GND [Pin] signal_name as [Pin Mapping] bus_label a. Is a bus_label created even if we don't have [Pin Mapping], [Bus Label], or [Die Supply Pads] through the [Pin]? b. Is a bus_label short created for legacy package models based on the second column of [Pin] when we do not have a [Pin Mapping] entry?
