IBIS models and i2spice

This has been an interesting thread to watch.

Has anyone thought about using VHDL/AMS? This gives you digital (VHDL), analog/mixed signal (including SPICE), and annything else you can build a behavioral description for. Surely someone can build behavioral descriptions for "ibis" models, since that is what ibis is at heart.

There are a few simulation vendors already ramping up for VHDL/AMS. Among others, Analogy (Saber, Mast, VHDL/AMS) and Mentor Graphics (Accusim, HDL-A, VHDL/AMS) come to mind. Unfortunately, few of the traditional SPICE vendors are jumping on this, since they seem to be waiting for customer demand (their claim) (which may well show in loss of market share to those who provide it - my personal guess).
