     Systems Oriented Interest Group Kickoff Meeting

AGENDA:

This is a non-commercial meeting to learn about the IBIS Forum activities,
IBIS based simulation and establish a systems oriented interest group with
emphasis on use of IBIS to understand IBIS technology and meet the needs of
digital systems designers.

1. Opening Remarks: IBIS and the System Design Experience - Ed Sayre (10 min.)
 
2. The IBIS Forum - What is it, what is its purpose? - Bob Ross*
   (30 - 40 min.)

        a) IBIS background and history
        b) IBIS mission and how does it relate to system design
        c) Who's a member, who can be a member?
        d) FAQ's and miscellaneous items
 
3. Creation of an Effective Systems Oriented IBIS Interest Group - Ed Sayre
   (30 - 40 min.)
        a) Systems Design Needs - making tools, technology, specifications
           available
        b) Public and commercial IBIS tools and training - who, when, where?
        c) Governance and meeting frequency - do we need a semi-formal
           structure?
 
4. Short case history: Library and Support Activities for Effective
Introduction and Use of IBIS in Systems Design - Gary Husted; Intel,
Hillsboro, OR (30 - 40 min.)
 
5. IBIS Tools - Public and Commercial - A Panel Discussion (Members TBD) -
   (30 - 40 min.)
        a) Who's tools do what?
        b) What do they cost? Where do you get them?
        c) Verification vs. engineering design - when are the validity of
           models of great importance?
 
6. Closing remarks and Future Meeting Plans - Ed Sayre (10 min.)

* Bob Ross has a plane to catch, so we have to have him out of the meeting
   by 3:15 p.m.

Please note, there will be coffee and other light refreshments available at
the meeting. There is no cost for this meeting. It is preferred that you
pre-register by e-mail to esayre@nesa.com or info@nesa.com. Registration
will be available at the meeting. This meeting is sponsored by North East
Systems Associates, Inc. in the interest of setting up the stated IBIS
interest group.

         follow entrance signs.

Route 3 north to route 95 south to route 495 north
Route 295 north to Route 495 north
         Exit # 28 to Route 111, (Boxboro/Harvard).
         Turn left off of the ramp,
         Take the first road on the right, (Adams Place)
         follow entrance signs.

>From the East: (Boston, North Shore, Waltham, Norwood)

Route 128 soute to route 2 west or
Route 128 north to route 2 west to
    Route 111 West
         Follow route 111 approximately 8 miles.
         Adams Place will be on the left before
         crossing route 495.
Alternative is to follow route 2 west
to 495 south
         Exit #28 to Route 111, (Boxboro/Harvard).
         Turn right off of the ramp,
         travel over the overpass, and take the
         first road on the right, (Adams Place)
         follow entrance signs.

Route 90 (Mass Pike) west to Route 495 north
         Exit # 28 to Route 111, (Boxboro/Harvard).
         Turn left off of the ramp,
         Take the first road on the right, (Adams Place)
         follow entrance signs.

>From the West: (Worcester, Fitchburg & CT)

Route 290 East to Route 495 north
         Exit # 28 to Route 111, (Boxboro/Harvard).
         Turn left off of the ramp,
         Take the first road on the right, (Adams Place)
         follow entrance signs.

(CT) Route 84 north to Route 90 (Mass Pike) East to
         Route 495 north.
         Exit # 28 to Route 111, (Boxboro/Harvard).
         Turn left off of the ramp,
         Take the first road on the right, (Adams Place)
         follow entrance signs.

Route 2 east to route 495 south.
         Exit #28 to Route 111, (Boxboro/Harvard).
         Turn right off of the ramp,
         travel over the overpass, and take the
         first road on the right, (Adams Place)
         follow entrance signs.
