Check-in, Intros, Announcements
There were no new participants.
There were no corrections made to last month's minutes.
Nothing new to report on finances. There were no new issues.
There were no press updates reported.
There was no new public model availability announced. Will announced that
Intel is distributing IBIS models of unannounced parts under non-disclosure.

Progress toward enlisting new IC vendors
Syed is presenting IBIS to multiple groups within National Semi.

AR Will: Send your PowerPoint slide file to Syed. [DONE]

Texas Instruments has published a Spice model Databook on a 3.5" disk. NCSU
proposes using these models as test input to the Spice-to-IBIS converter.

Golden Parser, 2.1
We discussed funding the new parser. It was agreed that we can start
collecting funds.

AR Derrick: Post an "invoice" for the rev 2.0 GP for companies that are ready
to buy-in now.

Old AR Stephen: Generate V2.0 test files for Paul by Aug. 1.
Old AR Kumar: Generate V2.0 package test files for Paul by Aug. 1.
Old AR Stephen: Start an evaluation/validation-plan discussion on the
reflector. [STARTED]

IBIS Librarian
Michael Steer of NCSU has submitted a proposal to have NCSU provide the
librarian function while keeping the files on the vhdl.org machine.

Vote taken to approve Michael Steer's proposal, there were no objections.

AR Michael: Post procedures for companies to post IBIS files.

Disclaimer issue: Librarian to add a line or two to point to a longer
disclaimer statement.

AR Michael: Propose a longer statement and send it to Derrick Duehren for
legal review.

Standards Body Affiliation
Will proposed affiliation to the EIA after ratification of IBIS Rev 2.1. The
DIE group, which uses IBIS and is funded by ARPA within the EIA, has
volunteered to help guide IBIS through the standards process along with the
DIE spec. ARPA funding ends this year. We would still retain control.

Advisory vote taken: Unanimously approved.

====> A binding vote will be taken at the 8/26/94 meeting. <====

Spice-to-IBIS Converter
Bob Ross and Scott Bloom reported that the V1.1 converter will be posted
soon. Berkeley 2,3, Pspice, Hspice support on Sun, DEC, HP700 Series, and
RS6000. They are having memory limitations running on DOS. Kellee suggested
running it under Windows 32 to avoid the memory problems.

AR Derrick: Retrieve files from \incoming and post them to \s2ibis. [DONE]

BIRD 17, Number of Data Points
We continued the debate that has been on the reflector. We need to either
kill this BIRD or increase the number of pins past 101.

AR Arpad to talk with Meta-Software and get their comments on this issue.

BIRD 18.2, [Diff Pin] Parameter Order
Vote taken on BIRD 18.2, approved unanimously.

V_fixture sub-keyword
Not discussed.

AR: Bob Ross, post this as BIRD 19.

Wrap-up, Next Meeting Plans
Our next meeting is 8/26/94.
