Hello All:

While exchanging e-mail with Kumar on the subject of waveform
tables we realized that the spec makes no mention of the fact that
the data for the waveform table is supposed to be taken with
C_comp = 0. In fact the spec is not very clear about
this with regards to the ramp rate either. Here is a proposed
bird to take care of this. I hope we can get this in for
ver 2.1 ratification Friday.

BIRD ID#: 24
ISSUE TITLE: C_comp, ramp rates and waveform tables
REQUESTOR: Stephen Peters

DATE SUBMITTED: Dec, 6, 1994
DATE ACCEPTED BY IBIS OPEN FORUM: Pending
*********************************************************
*********************************************************

STATEMENT OF THE ISSUE: The spec does not clearly state that
the ramp rate numbers and the data in the waveform tables are
to be taken with C_comp = 0.

*********************************************************

STATEMENT OF THE RESOLVED SPECIFICATIONS: The specification
is changed in three places. The first is in the 'NOTES ON DATA
DERIVATION METHOD' section under Ramp Rates. The second
paragraph is modified to read as follows:

"The ramp rate does not include packaging and the C_comp
parameter; it is the intrinsic output stage rise and fall time only."

In the section of the spec describing the [Ramp] keyword the
following statement is added after the first sentence of the
description:

"The ramp rate is measured with C_comp = 0."

Likewise, the section describing the [Rising Waveform], [Falling
Waveform] keywords would also be modified to add the following at
the end of the first paragraph:

"As with the [Ramp] Keyword, the data in the waveform tables
   is taken with C_comp = 0."

*******************************************************************************

ANALYSIS PATH/DATA THAT LED TO SPECIFICATION:

While exchanging e-mail with Kumar on the subject of waveform tables we
realized that the spec makes no mention of the fact that the data for the
waveform table is supposed to be taken with C_comp = 0. In fact the spec is not
very clear about this with regards to the ramp rate either.
