Sorry, I was wrong. The character after the number can
refer to base units (such as V for volts) as long as it
is not the same character that is used for scaling...

Lynne,

In HSPICE the rule is that the character after the number
should never refer to base units. So if there is an "m"
after the number, it means "milli". If you intend to say
"meter", you should not use any letters (this includes not
spelling out the word "meter" either).

I have seen models, though, where people didn't follow these
rules and they were wondering why it gave bogus results...

This can be confusing to a newbe, but once you know the
rules it is easy. You just can't always write out your
units for clarity.

Hello, Guy,

Nice BIRD. It should fly well.

A couple of items:

1) What if the model contains 0.05m - it this 0.05 meters, or 0.05 mm?
This is a potential result of the prefix and units being the same symbol
(m),
with units being optional.

2) How about differential logic families in addition to TTL/CMOS/ECL?
LVDS comes to mind, and there may be others. Or is this covered with
existing model data?

Best regards,
Lynne
