Christian & Matthias,

While you are correct that the waveform tables in IBIS
[Model]s are voltage tables, you need to remember that
they are measured with a resistive load (R_fixture)
which is connected to a certain voltage (V_fixture).

So even if the driver is a current driver, its output
current will result in a voltage through the load
resistor and you will get a voltage waveform. You
will just have to select an appropriate resistance
value so that the voltage you get will have the correct
amplitude, similar to the normal operating conditions
of the device.

I hope this helps.

Subject: [IBIS] How to model current interfaces like SWP ?

Hello IBIS gurus,

we need some information how to model a current
interface (SWP, single wire protocol).
The problem is, that there is nearby no voltage
swing at the driver output. Only the amount of
current is switching. The IBIS waveforms
support only voltage waveforms. How can we
model current waveforms?

Thanks,

Christian & Matthias.
