Vinayak,

One way to switch between a model that includes the termination and one that does not is to use the [Model Selector] keyword. You can create two unique [Model]s and let the user choose which model they want - one with the termination or one without.

Randy

Vinyak,

The simulator is correct. As the name also implies,
[Add Submodel] is added to the main [Model]. If you
read Section 6a in the v5.0 specification, starting
on pg. 83, you will notice that it says "added
functionality" or similar all over the place.

Thanks,

Arpad

Subject: [IBIS] Using submodels

Hi IBIS experts,

I was modeling some termination (switchable : off/on) as submodel and I ran the this model into hspice QC to check how this behaves.
What I capture as part of submodel are weak pullup ON + diode IV as pwr/gnd clamp and base model where I call this also has diode IV in pwr/.gnd clamps.

When I run QC I find that the currents are double counted.
My interpretation was that the submodel pwr/gnd clamp should replace the base model pwr/gnd clamp tables in Receive mode which I expected to.
This looks not to be the case. Is my understanding wrong. Does submodel gets added to base model?
Is there any way tools can switch to submodel currents only and not add to base model IV ?

Thanks
Vinayak
