Please fill out the top part of the following form and send the complete form to ibis-bug@eda.org. A list of reported bugs will be maintained on eda.org. ****************************************************************************** PARSER VERSION NUMBER: 4.0.2 PLATFORM (SPARC, HP700, PC, etc.): PC OS AND VERSION: Windows XP Professional REPORTED BY: Michael Mirmak, Intel Corp. DATE: May 6, 2004 DESCRIPTION OF BUG: The memory footprint used by the parser under Microsoft operating systems is defined by a set of compilation switches to be passed to the Microsoft Windows* or Microsoft DOS* C compiler. These switches are: /DIBIS_DOS /DIBIS_WIN31 /DIBIS_WIN95 /DIBIS_WINNT Using a parser executable compiled for one system with switches set for another can lead to unpredictable results. When the bug86.ibs below is parsed using a WINDOWS_NT system using a parser compiled using the /DIBIS_WINNT switch, the results are, as expected: IBISCHK4 V4.0.2 Checking bug86.ibs for IBIS 4.0 Compatibility... Errors : 0 File Passed When the bug86.ibs below is parsed using a WINDOWS_NT system using a parser compiled using the /DIBIS_DOS switch, the results are: IBISCHK4 V4.0.2 Checking bug86.ibs for IBIS 4.0 Compatibility... WARNING - [Model] bug86 has no description of the buffer's low state DC drive characteristics (no [Pulldown] table). This warning can be silenced by changing the Model_type or by adding a [Pulldown] table. Errors : 0 Warnings: 1 File Passed INSERT IBIS FILE DEMONSTRATING THE BUG: Note that the BUG is only demonstrated on compilation with /DIBIS_DOS as an option, when the resulting executable is run on a "WINDOWS_NT" system as defined in the OS environment variable. |************************************************************************ | [IBIS Ver] 4.0 [File Name] bug86.ibs [File Rev] 1.0 [Date] 5/06/2004 [Source] John Angulo/Michael Mirmak.
