Last updated: February 3, 2004 The following summarizes the process for resolving ICM specification problems through the IBIS Open Forum. The form below is called an "ICM Issue Resolution Document" or "IIRD". Issues which require changes to the ICM specification must be well thought out and clearly documented using this template to be placed on the agenda of a future IBIS Open Forum. Write up your issue and submit it to the IBIS Open Forum chair (michael.mirmak@intel.com). A member of the IBIS Open Forum will conduct a preliminary check for completeness and may send your IIRD back to you. If not, the issue will be posted to the reflector. Each issue must be out for review for two weeks before the Open Forum will vote on it. During that time, you will be expected to answer questions related to your IIRD. In each meeting announcement, the Chair will list those IIRDs that are ready for a vote at that meeting. An IIRD will be accepted if the meeting has a quorum and the majority of voting members vote in favor of it. The IBIS Open Forum strives to reach a consensus or near consensus of all members in preparation for future public review. So normally the IBIS Open Forum will defer a formal vote until all concerns expressed by members are discussed and resolved. Please note that Open Forum time will not be used for detailed IIRD review, but rather for confirming consensus. Detailed review MUST be undertaken during the two-week review cycle via emails. Dissenters should not wait until the Open Forum to express their opinions. NOTE: All text in French brackets is for explanation only and should be deleted before submitting the IIRD for review and approval. ---------------------------- cut here --------------------------------- ICM Issue Resolution Document (IIRD) IIRD ID#: {will be filled in by the IBIS Open Forum for tracking} ISSUE TITLE: {one line description of your issue} REQUESTOR: {your name and company} DATE SUBMITTED: {date you sent to the chair} [ DATE REVISED: {revision date} ] NOT USED DATE ACCEPTED BY IBIS OPEN FORUM: {status or date IIRD accepted} **************************************************************************** **************************************************************************** STATEMENT OF THE ISSUE: {Place a short description of your issue here. Your reasons, analysis, and justifications must be precise and well documented, or your IIRD will be sent back to you. If your issue is a change instead of an enhancement, document how backward compatibility is to be addressed.} **************************************************************************** ANY OTHER BACKGROUND INFORMATION: {These documents will be archived, so use this section to carry any detail that is not essential to the previous section, but should not be lost.} ****************************************************************************
