No patents were declared. Justin Butterfield took minutes. Review of Minutes: - Michael called for review of the minutes from the January 18 meeting. Walter Katz moved to approve the minutes. Bob Ross seconded. The minutes were approved without objection. Review of ARs: - Michael to send out draft 47 of the Interconnect BIRD. - Michael reported this is done. - Michael to prepare a status update for the summit meeting. - Michael reported this is done. Bob suggested, on slide 5, to use the terms pin_name, signal_name and bus_label with the underscore. Also, on slide 8, Bob suggested to clarify that we are looking at the terminal locations of buffer, die pad or pin. Mike LaBonte suggested to use the term interface or connection point. Bob suggested to change to pin_name, signal_name, pad_name and add "or bus_label". On slide 14, Bob suggested to change to pad_names and signal_names with the underscore. Michael mentioned he will change the presentation to use an IBIS centric template. Michael noted the example on slide 10 has multiple buffer terminals for VDDQ and VSSQ, while there is only one terminal for each on the pins side. Walter suggested to show the VDDQ and VSSQ interconnect connecting outside of the Die Pad Terminals box, in order to make the one pin to multiple buffer rail terminals clear. Michael asked if the example on slide 12 looked correct. Walter thought it needed the same change as the example picture on slide 10. Walter noted that [Die Supply Pads] allow the model to have distributed power. The simple way to connect the supply rails is to use signal_name, while for complex power delivery networks pad_names can be used. Bob suggested, on slide 15, to change the wording for the first sub-bullet. Bob's concern is in regards to the term "shorted", which is usually the case, but it is not always the case. Interconnect BIRD draft 47: Walter asked about a functional change that Bob had possibly made in the draft 47 version he sent out. Bob replied that it was related to the second column of [Bus Label], but that it was more of an editorial change for clarification. Mike stated he had sent out a difference document that shows only the changes that Bob made. On page 12, Bob had a comment on the figure asking about what the different colors represent. Walter noted that some of the pictures were examples only, and he recommended to change them in an editorial pass. Bob made some clarifications to the Aggressor_Only section in his draft. He commented that it would be good to clean up the language in this section for clarity. Walter suggested for Michael and Mike to finish up the document and create a formal draft to be sent out for a final pass by this group. Michael agreed. Walter suggested for everyone to send an email if they approve of the document. Bob stated that if major changes were needed, we should wait to submit the BIRD to the IBIS Open Forum. Walter made a motion to have a formal draft 48 prepared based on the changes discussed in this meeting, circulate it to the committee members, and if there are no major changes, submit it to the IBIS Open Forum. Bob seconded. There were no objections. There will be no meeting on February 1, 2017 due to DesignConn. Bob moved to adjourn. Mike seconded. The meeting adjourned without objection.
