Michael Mirmak* Keysight Technologies Radek Biernacki Mentor, A Siemens Business Arpad Muranyi* Micron Technology Justin Butterfield*, Randy Wolff* SiSoft Walter Katz*, Mike LaBonte Teraspeed Labs Bob Ross* Michael Mirmak convened the meeting. No patents were declared. Justin Butterfield took minutes. Review of Minutes: - Michael called for review of the minutes from the May 16 meeting. Bob Ross moved to approve the minutes. Justin seconded. The minutes were approved without objection. Review of ARs: - Michael to send the BIRD189.6_draft3_v1 version to Mike for posting and submission to the IBIS Open Forum. - Michael reported that this is done. Opens: - None. BIRD189.6 Comments: Michael asked if there are any comments on BIRD189.6. Bob noted on page 11 there is a statement to review the examples. Bob commented that we can vote on the BIRD with this in there noting it will be removed in editorial. Randy Wolff noted this is an easy fix in the editorial work. Bob noted on page 12 there are extra line breaks to make the examples fit, but this is an editorial issue. Michael thought we could also change the comments in the examples on page 11 to take up entire lines. Future meeting topics: Michael noted we have an IBIS Open Forum meeting on June 8 then on June 29. We are anticipating, if there are no major issues, to have BIRD189 up for a vote on June 29. He asked if we need to have this meeting between now and then. He stated we could schedule the meetings as needed. Bob thought as needed would be okay. Randy stated he would like to get started on the EMD discussion soon and would like to get that on the agenda. He noted that Walter Katz had sent out a draft about a year ago based on the Interconnect BIRD at that time. Bob noted that we have substantial editorial work to do for IBIS 7.0, and we will likely use the Friday time slot for that. Michael agreed. Bob suggested a controlled process for the editorial work, including working on the changes sequentially in the IBIS Specification. Also there are some decisions to be made, and we may need some introductory text. Randy noted we could also spend time in the Interconnect Meeting slot to work on the editorial tasks. Bob noted, in regards to the EMD draft Walter sent out, that we would have to see what changes are needed based on the current BIRD189. Randy agreed. Michael noted that EMD would be the top agenda item. He would also like to have Touchstone updates and an IBIS-ISS parser as additional topics. Arpad Muranyi asked about the scheduling and when the EMD discussion would start. Michael suggested to wait until BIRD189 is approved. Michael suggested to meet every week until after June 29. Michael asked Walter if he would be willing to send out his draft for EMD. Walter stated he will do this, but he would like to wait until BIRD189 is approved by the IBIS Open Forum. Michael agreed this would be a good approach. Walter to work on an EMD draft after BIRD189 is approved [AR]. Next Meeting: The next meeting is June 13. Walter moved to adjourn. Arpad seconded. The meeting adjourned without objection.
