Michael Mirmak reviewed the status of the Touchstone 2.x binary proposal. The team suggested several changes to the document: - Change "educational" to "illustrative" or some similar word. - Change the reference to the IEEE specification to ensure that only the subset supporting 32- and 64-bit representations is supported. - Add language to the example to explain the conversion from ASCII to hexadecimal. - Change [Binary Data] to [Binary]. - Remove references to significant reductions in filesize; change "can" to "may" in opening paragraph. - Ensure "draft" text is removed. Michael will incorporate these changes into the document and distribute it to the IBIS Open Forum in time for a potential vote at the next Open Forum teleconference. Walter reviewed his proposals for incorporating "by-transfer-function" representations of data into the ASCII and binary portions of a Touchstone 2.0 file. The proposals are available on the IBIS Ad Hoc Interconnect Task Group mail archive (freelists.org). The proposals will be incorporated into new TSIRDs, for consideration by the Task Group and potentially the Open Forum. The meeting ran out of time. MCP will be discussed in the next meeting.
