Randy moved to approve the minutes. Bob seconded. The minutes were approved without objection. Review of ARs: - Randy to add the keyword column header language issue to the IBIS 7.0 known issues list. - Randy reported this is done, but it is waiting to be uploaded to the website. - Michael to check if the most recent drafts have been posted to the website. - Michael noted he has sent some documents to Steve, but he has not seen these posted on the website. Michael suggested to keep this open [AR]. Randy had Steve post documents recently. Arpad noted some documents from the ATM group have also not been posted. - Michael to move the definition of designators to section 13. - Michael requested to keep this open, but he hoped to close this today [AR]. - Michael to send out EMD draft 27. - Michael reported this is done. Opens: - Bob requested to review the word "parts" and the language referring to "part name". EMD Draft27 Review: Michael displayed draft 27. The first comment is regarding extra line feeds on page 24. Randy had noted we typically do not use line feeds between paragraphs. Bob said we want to separate the paragraphs. Michael noted we have a paragraph separator of 4 points. Randy noted there are line feeds in Interconnect. Michael asked if we want to have the line feeds or the paragraph separator. Randy noted we typically do not use the line feeds, and we are not consistent. Bob suggested to add this to the bin list. Michael stated we need to go through this in an editorial pass. Michael noted the next comment is regarding bold text on page 27. Bob agreed with removing the bold. Michael asked if we want to use italics to add emphasis. Bob replied we do not use bold text throughout, and this is describing how the terminals are combined. Michael asked about the word "can", and he suggested this should be "may". Bob agreed. Michael commented there are more bold statements on page 28. He made these not bold. Michael also noted the word "ALL" in capitalized letters. Bob suggested to keep the emphasis on this and change it to italics. Michael stated there are rules which are highlighted on page 28. He asked if these need to be checked. Randy asked if this is the correct place for these statements. He noted these were moved from another section. Michael noted this is in the Terminal_type section. He asked if we should move these rules to the Usage Rules section. Randy noted these were in the Usage Rules section previously, and we moved them, since they are not rules and are more usage examples. Michael suggested they should go before the examples, as there may not be a better place. Randy said the placement is okay, but it does not read well. Bob suggested to say these are examples and to combine these sentences into one paragraph. Michael asked if we need an introductory sentence. He suggested to add: "multiple applications exist for EMD Models focused on rail terminals". Bob commented, to complete the thought, the same is true for the case of with I/O terminals. Randy commented we have stated this already, and he suggested to move that statement to this paragraph. Michael suggested to add this as a parenthetical. Randy agreed. Michael noted, on page 29, the parenthesis is hanging, and he corrected this. Bob asked about the "A07_1". Michael asked if there is an electrical model for this. Randy replied this is the electrical model, and "A07_1" is the name of the subcircuit inside the IBIS-ISS model. Michael suggested to say this is the IBIS-ISS subcircuit name. Randy suggested to move the parenthetical starting at the word "combined", change "combined" to "referenced", and add the "subcircuit named". Bob suggested to change "Example 1" to "as shown in Example 1". Michael asked about item 2 on page 29. Randy thought the statement is correct. Arpad asked about the capitalization of EMD Set and EMD pin. Randy replied these are correct. Michael said the comment is about the word "Net" in upper case. Randy suggested to make this lower case. Bob suggested to search the rest of the document. Michael found and corrected one additional instance. Randy asked about the sentence on page 29 that starts with the word "or". Arpad suggested to make this one sentence and to change the word "can" to "may". Bob suggested to keep it two sentences. Michael suggested to change "or" to "alternatively". Michael commented, on page 37, there is more highlighted text. He suggested to make these simpler by removing the qualifying statement. Randy asked if we should remove the phrase "for I/O pins". Bob commented we cannot duplicate the pin_name, and we do not have a rule regarding singal_names. He noted this text is already under "for I/O pins". Bob suggested to add a parenthetical to say "as listed in the [EMD Pin List]". Michael said there is a remaining comment on page 13. Randy thought we had moved this text into this section, and we need to review this. Michael will send out EMD draft 28 and a note to review the text on page 13 [AR]. Randy suggested to review this section and send any suggestions over email. Bob asked about the "part name" subject. Michael replied there is a comment on this on page 11. Next Meeting: The next meeting will be October 21. Arpad moved to adjourn. Randy seconded. The meeting adjourned without objection. ================================================================================ Bin List: EMD Comments to be Resolved: (See BIRD202.1 tracking spreadsheet) IBIS-ISS Parser: - IBIS-ISS parser scope document
