Abdulrahman,

I don't agree with this statement. Warning are indeed warnings and are there to inform you that you have a potential problem. Simply ignoring warnings all the time can get you into trouble. After discovering and evaluating what caused the warning then you might be justified in ignoring it.

The non-monotonic warning in ibischk is based on each I-V curve individually and that is not the thing that matters in simulation. What you need to check is monotonicity of the sums of the curves (power clamp + ground clamp; clamps + pullup; clamps + pulldown).

The extreme currents warning might be acceptable, but only if the values are outside of the normal operating voltage range. This is usually the case when the input clamp diodes are simulated in the conducting region and they have very little, or no resistance in the model.

Weston Beal

Eric,

The warning message of "non-monotonic" is perfectly acceptable and can be ignored. As for the warning message of extrreme currents present, it also is acceptable. In fact if you open the .ibs file and comment our all the extreme +ve and -ve currents in the I-V tables and then rerun ibischks, this warning message will not show up.

In short you needn't worry too much about these warnings.

Hope this helps.

Abdulrahman Rafiq

Hi All,

When running ibischk3 to check ver2.1 model, if there are warning
messages complaining about "non-monotonic"and "extreme currents present"
around hundred amp level, is it possible and acceptible?

Thanks
