[IBIS-Users] IBIS model accuracy

Hi everybody:

The IBIS model accuracy is my question in this chance. I reviewed the
I/O Buffer Accuracy Handbook looking for accuracy of IBIS. There are
concepts and formulas to define the accuracy, however there are not numbers
or percentages that can tell us how much is accurate an IBIS model. Some
IBIS users define as rule of thumb (Cisco for example) the maximum level of
mismatch acceptable between waveforms (HSPICE model vs IBIS model) as a
correlation within “50 ps and 50 mV”. Are this numbers a common criteria of
accuracy between IBIS community members? And what about silicon vs IBIS
model correlation accuracy? What is the maximum accuracy possible?

Regards,
