RE: [IBIS-Users] How I can extract two value for vinh and vinl

Hello, Akilesh,

These are the input voltages at which the receiver output toggles into a
valid state, and by when it drops out of a valid state. Normally, these are
specified on the I/O data sheet.

If Vinh+=Vinh-, then only Vih is used in the model. Likewise, if
Vinl+=Vinl-, then only Vil is used.

Best regards,
Lynne

Hello Lynne,

   Thanx for your reply.

For VInh and Vinl it's OK. I have problem to extract VINH+, VINH-, VINL+
& VINL- values. How can I extract these values on one PVTSC by simulation.

Regards
Akhilesh

Hello, Akilesh,

The interconnect specification (such as TTL or PCI) specifies the I/O

characteristics, including Vinh and Vinl. For example, if I remember

correctly, TTL specifications are Vinl=0.8V and Vinh=2.0V.

If you are not using a standard interconnect, then see my paragraph about

PVT simulations.

Best regards,

Lynne

Hello Lynne,

I am not able to understand how these values come from interconnect

specification.

I am also not able to understand what is externel specification.

In my view I have a spice netlist and run our simulation to extract VINH

and VINL. According to me one design have one VINH and one VINL value at one

process, voltage and temp. How I can extract two value of VINH and VINL at

one process voltage and temp.

Please correct if I am wrong.

Regards

Akhilesh

Hello, Akilesh,

These values normally come from the interconnect specification. If

there are no parameters equivalent to Vinh+, Vinh-, Vinl+ & Vinl-, then

these parameters are not used in the IBIS model.

If you are not following an external specification, then you need to do

a complete PVT (process, voltage, temperature) analysis for Vinh and

Vinl (not just one corner).

Hi,

I have just one query. According to the IBIS specification we can

support Vinh+, Vinh-, Vinl+ & Vinl-.

I extract these valuse by applying one pulse at the input and find

out the voltage at which it switch from 0->1 and 1->0. According to me

I have only one value at one process, voltage temp. How I can extract

two value for vinh and vinl for one process, voltage and temp.

Regards

Akhilesh
