The IBIS Open Forum is pleased to announce that IBIS Version 6.0 was approved September 20 and is now available. The document, in Microsoft Word* format and Adobe PDF*, may be viewed at:

http://www.eda.org/ibis/ver6.0/

Version 6.0 adds new features to the AMI (Algorithmic Modeling Interface) extensions introduced in Version 5.0, including parameters for jitter and noise descriptions plus data management. In addition, the AMI extensions now support mid-channel repeaters. Also in Version 6.0, analog buffer models support links to IBIS-ISS (the IBIS Interconnect SPICE Subcircuit specification), in addition to allowing parameter passing with [External Model] and [External Circuit]. A complete list of changes is available through the link above. This version also continues using the new and more readable document formatting introduced in IBIS 5.1.

Development of an updated IBISCHK parser is underway.

We are very grateful to the many reviewers and participants in IBIS teleconferences, task group meetings, and offline discussions for their help in making version 6.0 a reality. Thank you for your support of IBIS!
