No patents were declared. Michael reviewed the August 12, 2026 meeting minutes. Arpad Muranyi suggested several changes to the minutes: 1) The phrase: “This implies that the signal name and designator do not indicate connectivity.” should be changed to: “This might be interpreted as the signal name does not indicate connectivity through designators.” 2) Please change the phrase “using names A7 and A7R” to “using names A07 and A07r” to match the spelling in the IBIS specification. 3) The string “GND_ux” appears at least once, but most of the draft uses an upper case letter "U". Arpad moved to approve the minutes with these changes; Randy Wolff seconded. The minutes were approved without objection. Michael raised an open, noting that the Interconnect Task Group web pages were now completely up-to-date in terms of minutes and discussion documents, plus the format of the pages more closely matches what is used for IBIS Quality and IBIS ATM. He expressed hope that this would make the documents more accessible and that more people would be encouraged to review the materials there. Michael reviewed the latest draft of the Port Mapping proposal, noting that nearly all the comments and technical changes so far received have been addressed. Most of the meeting focused on manual edits to the draft. Arpad pointed out that the Group subparameter refers not to locations, but to names. Arpad suggested that the same phrase be used throughout the document: Group, Bus_label, etc., may be used "with Ports of Type P or the references of Ports of Type P or Type S." This is to ensure that all references are covered, as well as the target terminals of Ports of Type P. The team also agreed that Physical names used with the Group subparameter may use wildcards. Arpad asked whether the format was using wildcards elsewhere. Instead of U1.2, use *.2 when linking to the reference -(Physical Group:GND_Ux). Randy opposed this approach. Michael took the AR to check both the proposal and IBIS for a suitable EMD example with a wildcard and Bus_label. [AR]. Michael noted that he found an issue with an EMD-based example that uses Group incorrectly. Arpad noted that the location is specified after the Port subparameter. Michael asked whether designator is the name only for the string that appears before the dot in a construction like "U1.2". Arpad replied yes, as this matches IBIS usage. Michael noted that there may be instances of "Type Signal" instead of "Type S". He will check the document for these. He also noted that the document assumes that wildcards cannot be used with IBIS Interconnect. The team discussed whether Group was truly needed for EMD, and how this could be used to resolve the confusion regarding nets, extended nets, and automatically determining connectivity. Arpad wondered whether Group may be considered as a way to describe an extended Net; he will consider this further. Michael noted that the draft uses the phrase "simulator global reference node" in place of "A_gnd" as the latter is not defined here. He asked whether we needed some Touchstone-specific reserved term for the ideal reference node, or SPICE node 0. Michael took the AR to send out draft 32 of the Port Mapping proposal to the reflector, showing the changes made during the meeting. [AR] Arpad moved to adjourn; Randy seconded.
