Hi Venu,

Basically you need a non-ideal power delivery model in order to see the
effects of split c_comp.

I recommend that you use a fully coupled (and frequency dependent would be
even better) sig/pwr/gnd package+PCB model that has ports at the driver,
receiver, and power supply locations.

There has been a lot of exploration work regarding how to split c_comp over
the past 1.5 years. Zhiping Yang has published a few documents about his
techniques - it's a good place to start if you haven't seen them yet.
I believe this was his latest paper:

Just let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks,
Sam

Subject: [IBIS-Users] Test case to see the sensitivity of split C_comp
values

Hi Gurus,

Could some one suggest me a test case which can be useful for observing
the sensitivity of split C_comp values of IBIS?

Need for the test case: I am extracting the split C_comp values of the
IO buffer from two different approaches. I need to select one of the
approach by correlating with hspice model. For that, I need a test case
that is very sensitive to split C_comp values.

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,
Venu
