Hi Sujit, Just FYI, you can specify Tr and Tf in the .s2i file as follows, [Tr] typ min max [Tf] typ min max - April --------------------------------------------------- April Hachenburg Core Technology Design Engineer SMSC - Phoenix "NG,MEI-YEE" <mei-yee.ng@avagotech.com> Sent by: owner-ibis-users@server.eda.org 12/21/2006 05:30 PM To "Sujit Kumar-r65837" <sujit@freescale.com> cc <ibis-users@server.eda.org> Subject RE: [IBIS-Users] pulse/step description for v/t curves Hi Sujit, Again, from my limited experience, the [sim time] value chosen is based on the amount of time your pad needs to reach the stable value after transition. Basically, it should be longer than your rise or fall time. As for the pulse information, I simulated them based on the expected td, tr, etc that I would expect from my pad’s inputs/stimuli. Hope it helps. Its quite urgent for me. Sujit Kumar-r65837 wrote: hi Mei From the ibis document what I understand is; there is only one switch (i.e sim time) in .s2i file to describe the pulse. Then following queries arise: -- on what basis should one choose this [sim time] value? I need to know this because I have to generate ibis model for an IO pad. -- How are the following values calculated to describe the pulse i.e td, tr, tf, width and period. thanks sujit NG,MEI-YEE wrote: Hi Sujit, From my limited experience with s2ibis3, I discovered that the pulse size was generated by dividing your sweep range by 100 points. If you need to make it finer, you might need to edit the .spi files manually, but keep in mind that the number of points allowed for version 3.2 is 100 only. Thank you.
