The IBIS Open Forum is pleased to announce that IBIS Version 5.1 was unanimously approved this morning and is now available. The document, in Microsoft Word* format and Adobe PDF*, may be viewed at:
http://www.eda.org/ibis/ver5.1/
Version 5.1 revises and clarifies many aspects of the AMI (Algorithmic Modeling Interface) extensions introduced in Version 5.0. In addition, new keywords supporting weak pull-ups and pull-downs, plus expanded buffer capacitance, test data and power delivery support, have been added. A complete list of changes is available through the link above. Finally, and most visibly, Version 5.1 has been completely reformatted to improve organization and readability.
Development of an updated IBISCHK5 parser to include the 5.1 changes is nearly complete. Source code and executable availability will be announced in the very near future. With the new format, a new "BIRD" process for submitting change proposals has been developed and will be promulgated soon.
We are very grateful to the many reviewers and participants in IBIS teleconferences, task group meetings and offline discussions for their help in making version 5.1 a reality. Thank you for your support of IBIS!
