EIA IBIS COMMITTEE RESPONSE TO INTEL COMMENTS TO STANDARDS PROPOSAL NO. 3527
Comments to Standards Proposal No. 3527
I vote to approve the the proposed standard, as amended by the responses to
University of Manchester and Interconnectix, Inc. and by approved
BIRDs 25.3, 26 and 29.2. The specific changes initiated by the Birds are
described below.
Intel Corporation Comment 1
Type of Comment: Editorial
Reference: Section entitled "Notes on Data Derivation"
Suggested Change:
Change Adopt Bird 25.3
Reason: Clarifies the usage of various IBIS terms, such as min, typ and max in
various places in the specification. It also specifically clarifies the impact
of the C_Comp keyword and it makes the [Rising_Waveform] and [Falling_Waveform]
keywords clearer with respect to the [Ramp] sub-parameter.
Response: This change will be adopted as requested.
Intel Corporation Comment 2
Type of Comment: Editorial
Reference: Section on General syntx rules and guidelines
Suggested Change:
Change Adopt Bird 26
Reason: Strongly recommends against use of TABs in IBIS files, and presents
the rationale behind that recommendation.
Response: This change will be adopted as requested.
Intel Corporation Comment 3
Type of Comment: Editorial, Technical
Reference: Banded_matrix description
Suggested Change:
Change Adopt Bird 29.2
Reason: Clarifies the use of banded matrix representation for pin to pin coupling, correcting an oversight in the original specification.
Response: This change will be adopted as requested.
