Hello,
I am the lead system manager of eda.org, in addition to being a list
subscriber.

The list addresses are posted on at least one IBIS website. Unless the
website is protected by wpoison (which we use on the main eda.org
webpage), these addresses are vulnerable to web harvesters. I
encourage, but do not require, the use of wpoison.
Once the address is harvested, since the list managers have elected to
run the IBIS lists as open lists, they can be spammed. (I again
encourage, but do not require, all lists to be closed to global posting
via moderation of posts from other than list subscribers.)
In any event, I've blocked the IP addresses used to send this spam
(which, for once, *are* in Nigeria), so we shouldn't hear from that
source again.
BTW, any spam sent through eda.org should be reported to
stop-spam@eda.org. Please send full headers.
Regards,
Paul Menchini
Lead System Manager, eda.org
