RE: [IBIS] *-AMS modeling and hurting companies?

1) At least one person replied that they were using IBIS 4.1 AMS modeling,
as supported by their EDA vendor. Others are ramping up this year.  My
thanks to those who took time to reply.
2) It sounds like the good news is that IBIS is most of the way to the
requested macromodeling. :-)
3) Why stop there, since HSPICE does not have some of the equations one
might want to use?  Could it be expanded to support any C/C++ equation to
make it more general purpose?
4) My embarrassment, since I have missed the last few Futures meetings.

1)  I am not aware of anyone having done this.
2)  Controlled sources are allowed in [External Circuit] so are
    active circuits, even complete buffer models, etc...
3)  Most likely not.  That is why Don is proposing to write
    up the HSPICE EFGH elements as part of IBIS.
4)  As far as reviewing goes, this is pretty much what the
    discussion on the macromodeling proposal from Don is all about.

Does anyone know whether someone has successfully tried macromodeling using
the "external circuit" in IBIS 4.1?  Are controlled sources allowed there?

Related to that, are the controlled sources of SPICE 3f5 sufficient, or
should the Futures committee be reviewing this problem too?
