Hello, Chetana, Here are some of the reasons behind these naming limits. * Case sensitivity of file name: some operating systems (such as Windows) do not recognize a case difference in a file name, while others (UNIX, Linux) do. To make file names behave consistently for all IBIS tools, file names must all be lower case. * File name length is consistent with file name limits in earlier operating systems (8.3, for a total of 9 characters). Some tools might still have this coded into their operation. One could check to see whether a BIRD has been filed to have this increased. The page with the IBIS specification includes a list of BIRDs and instructions on how to file a new BIRD. * Length limits on names (model names, etc.): The line length limit is 120. Some tools might not read past the 120th character in a line. * To preserve IP names, one can put them in comments in a line above the component or model name. One could also include a name matching list in the [Notes] for further documentation. Best regards, Lynne "IBIS training when you need it, where you need it." Ex: If file name / model name is too long, error is "File_name string is too long, truncating to 12 characters" "File_name contains an upper case character " "Model name string is too long, truncating to 20 characters" Is there any way I can get rid of these errors without changing the IP name and model name ? What is the reason behind having this constraint on file / model names ?
