Subject: RE: [Q] Is there any EDA simulator accepting Connector IBIS?

Several EDA vendors (such as Cadence, Innoveda, and Mentor)
can handle Spice models. Connector model swathing is a related
problem, but even here you will find solutions available from many
of the EDA vendors.
The IBIS connector specification will provide a common model format
that allows vendors to provide a model file that can be used by all
EDA tool vendors. It also allows connector vendors to release models
containing behavioral data rather than physical data.

Yes,
SPICE models are already available... But some simulators only accept IBIS
models (i.e. They can not handle SPICE).

Hi,
I think it will be more useful that the EDA tool can accept SPICE format of
connector models, as most of the model for connectors are in SPICE. I thought
this
should be a fairly easy task for EDA tool vendors.
