Subject: Questions on numbers in IBIS

Hello, Roy. I have some confusion regarding numbers in an IBIS file. It states in section 3.8 that numbers with a suffix are meant to be interpreted as a number followed by any number of letters, where the first letter gives the actual scaling. For example, 3.0mOhms means 3.0e-3.

Now, there are several uses with voltages and resistances where this rule has some exceptions. I can specify 3.0V for voltage and 3.0ohm for ohms. Doesn't this violate the rules and therefore incorrect? Should I make a special case for "V" and "ohm" as a suffix when I parse numbers and ignore them? What happens if there is a unit with the same starting letter as a valid scaling suffix. Eg. 'f' as in 3.0farad?

Thanks!
    -Shawn
