I am the lead system manager for eda.org.

Sorry, but we had to temporarily disable anonymous ftp access on
eda.org. We suffered a service anomaly around New Year's Day, which we
thought might have been due to a breakin. While analyzing the system,
we discovered that our ftp daemon had a vunerability, requiring us to
install the latest version.

This has been done, and so we have re-enabled anonymous ftp access.
