Esdras, 1) I am not using s2ibis, so I can't comment on that. 2) Resistive common mode elements are nothing but driver and/or on die termination between the pad and any of the rails. If there is absolutely no pad-to-pad current flow, normal IBIS v2.1 models will do a good job describing your differential model. From this perspective, the s2ibis tool may work well. I am not sure whether you have seen these presentations, but you may get some useful information from looking at them: http://www.eda.org/pub/ibis/summits/oct03/muranyi.pdf http://www.eda.org/pub/ibis/summits/feb04a/muranyi1.pdf Also, the new IBIS cookbook has a fairly detailed section on differential buffer modeling: http://www.eda.org/pub/ibis/cookbook/cookbook-v4.pdf 3) Is this reference available on line? Currently I am working on differential IBIS model generation, and I have some questions regarding to differential IBIS model generation: 1.- If only 2.1 Is S2IBIS2 able to generate IBIS models for true differential buffers? 2.- When resistive common mode elements are used in the buffer outputs, how this resistors needs to be considered? Perhaps, in the same way as terminated buffers? 3.- How valid is the following proposed method: Secrets Revealed: Creating accurate LVDS IBIS models By Adam Tambone, Modeling Engineer, Interface Design Group, Fairchild Semiconductor Corp. South Portand, Maine PlanetAnalog April 3, 2002 I would really appreciatte if anyone can answer these questions. Thanks in advance!!!
