RE: [IBIS] problem with the pin mapping

If you list a pin in a pin list it needs to have a model assigned to it. If
you do not want to generate the model then use model type NC. Commenting
out those pins that you do not want to list models for also works but...

Hi,

 Thx to all the replies.

Tom,
Is it right to create a model for a pin for which i do not want the
IBIS
model ?

As of now i have commented out those pins in the [Pin mapping] section
from the .ibs file. Hope this will not creat any problems further.

 any comments ?

Hello, Vivek,

1) Pins 2 and 3 are commented out under the [Pin] keyword.
2) Since the pins are not defined under [Pin], they cannot be used with
later keywords, such as [Pin Mapping].

Besr regards,
Lynne

Hi ,

I have generated the IBIS model for an I/O buffer.. I get the correct
waveforms.
However if i run IBISCHK4 on the IBIS Model, i get the following error.

ERROR - Component '32G0402': Pin Mapping Pin '2' not previously declared in
Pin
section.
ERROR - Component '32G0402': Pin Mapping Pin '3' not previously declared in
Pin
section.

2 NC NC
3 NC NC
6 CLMP_GND NC
7 NC CLMP_VDD
9 DRV_GND DRV_VDD CLMP_GND CLMP_VDD

Now if i remove the comments from Pin name 2 and 3 from the pin section,
than i
get the following error :-
ERROR - Component '32G0402': Model 'dummy' for Pin '2' not defined.
ERROR - Component '32G0402': Model 'dummy' for Pin '3' not defined.

How do i get over this error ?

Thx,
Vivek
