RE: [IBIS] How to connect single pin to multiple pads in IBIS

Henrik's suggestions work, with one caveat.

If you use Option 3 (both connected, two models), each model must include
the total C_comp for BOTH analog and digital buffers to get the correct pad
loading. This will give more accurate reflection during simulation.

The total C_comp is also needed for Option 1, but it is easier since there
is only one model.

Lynne

Hi

It depends on what you want to do.

1)
If the analog cell and the output cell are connected to the same pin at the
same time, you need to create a special IBIS driver model containing both
the analog and output cell.

2)
If it is two different bond options/versions, you need to create two
different component models, either in two different files or in the same
file.

3)
If you by some kind of selection can select between the two different cells
(like for instance programable output drive strength), then you should use
the [Model Selector] keyword to select between the analog and output cell.

/Henrik

Hello Everybody,

One of my customer is facing problem with the connecting a single pin to
multiple pads(different models).
Actually he is connecting an analog cell and output cell to a single pin on
the package. How this has to be
done in [pin] section of IBIS ? How to associate 2 models for single pin in
IBIS ?

Let me know your response.
