Walter, Thanks for the explanation, but from past AMI discussions I understand what this sentence is trying to say. What I was "complaining" about (in addition to the missing "s" for plural in "results") is the wording of "may not change other results of the simulation". I can't help it but to me this sounds a little awkward or limping as far as English goes, but since English is not my native language I don't know how to explain what is wrong with it. I hope that having flagged an alert to this, someone might come up with a better wording. Now for what this sentence was intended to mean: "may not change any inputs to AMI models": The only input (after an AMI_GetWave call) that the EDA tool can change is the input to AMI_GetWave (either Tx or Rx). The only input to an AMI_GetWave that can change is the waveform. Take Tx_DCD for example. The AMI_Init can return Tx_DCD (if Tx_DCD is Usage Out) and the EDA tool may use this value of Tx_DCD to determine the waveform input to Tx AMI_GetWave, but may not use the Tx_DCD returned by Tx AMI_GetWave to affect the waveform for future calls to Tx AMI_GetWave. "may not change other result of the simulation": The EDA tool may choose to implement Tx_Rj statistically rather than affecting the waveform input to the Tx AMI_GetWave. The EDA tool may only use the value of Tx_Rj returned by Tx AMI_Init (if Tx_Rj is Usage Out), and may not use the values returned by Tx AMI_GetWave. Does this answer your question. I would like to request that the following sentence be corrected, because it is grammatically incorrect, and because of that not clear (red emphasis added to point to the problem area): "...but the EDA Tool/Simulator may not change any inputs to AMI models or change other result of the simulation based on the values returned..."
