Hello Granthana:
Unfortunetly, the current .pkg package model description format does
not support cascaded or multiple matrices. However, the IBIS committee
has just release a draft version of the ICM (interconnect modeling)
specification, which does support cascaded RLGC matrices in a format
similar to the .pkg file. The specification is currently undergoing
review, and a copy is available at the following URL:
http://www.eda.org/pub/ibis/connector/.

Subject: [IBIS-Users] Inclusion of RLGC package info in IBIS
Hello all,
I have to include package data which is in the RLGC matrix
format (derived from Hspice) in IBIS files. There are different sets of
matrices specified for the different sections like breakout2, via and
the transmission line as shown below. Also the length parameter is given
for package trace.
Seg 1(Break out ) Seg 2(Short trace) Seg 3(Via) Seg 4
(Package long trace) Seg 5(Via and Solderball)
My problem is :
1> The package model section of the IBIS file does not provide
an option to include RLGC matrices for multiple sections.
2> Also there is no keyword to specify the length for the traces
when the "model data" option is used. This option is provided only when
"Number of sections" is used. But since "Number of sections" and "model
data" option is mutually exclusive I cannot use this.
Hence how do I go about including multiple sets of matrices in
the IBIS file?
Looking forward for your reply.
Thanks,
